About Kai
A product builder.
A healthcare perspective.
I care about the places where better products can make healthcare work more human.
Following the work.
My career has moved from healthcare operations and claims data into digital health, patient–clinician matching, and AI-enabled products. Across those settings, the work has meant understanding what people need, where a workflow breaks down, and what a product can meaningfully change.
At Optum, I founded Optum Match and worked on virtual care and digital acquisition. Today, I’m a Principal Product Manager at Syneos Health. My experience there includes early strategy and prototyping for pharmaceutical patient-support orchestration.
I work across product, engineering, data, design, clinical, and business teams. I’m especially interested in the decisions that shape a new product: which problem to start with, what to build first, and how to know whether it helps.
Making room to explore.
Hands-on prototyping is part of how I work through product questions. My personal projects explore AI assistance, exception handling, and the boundaries between automated work and human judgment.
I also enjoy cooking and exploring new cuisines. What I Made grew from that interest: a small cooking journal for remembering dishes, revisiting past attempts, and seeing where that curiosity takes me.
